HOW IT WORKS
What happens when you call
01
Reach us
Call or text 317-922-9043, or book online. Tell us whether it’s gas, electric or tankless and what it’s doing — a photo of the label helps.
02
We find the cause
A licensed technician tests the power or gas supply, thermostats or controls, burner or elements, venting, relief valve and the tank itself.
03
You approve the price
You get an upfront price before work begins. We carry common parts, so many repairs are finished on the first visit. If a repair isn’t worth it, we’ll explain why.

REPAIR OR REPLACE
Repair or replace? How we help you decide
We’ll lay out both options so you can decide.
When a repair makes sense
The tank is sound and a part has failed: a thermostat, heating element, thermocouple or flame sensor, gas valve, igniter, or a drain or relief valve.
When replacement is the better call
Water is coming from the tank itself (a steel tank can’t be patched), a heater around 10 years old needs a major part, or repairs keep stacking up.
Qualifying new tank water heaters we install come with a 6-year manufacturer warranty. See Indianapolis water heater replacement and our published replacement prices.
WHAT WE REPAIR
Tank and tankless repair

Gas and electric tank heaters
We repair pilot and ignition problems, gas controls, thermocouples, heating elements, thermostats, high-limit resets, wiring, relief and drain valves, and venting issues.

Tankless heaters
We service major brands, including Navien and Rinnai: error codes, ignition failures, flow sensors, clogged inlet filters and scaled heat exchangers. See Navien tankless repair in Indianapolis or our Indianapolis tankless water heater services.
Indianapolis water is hard on water heaters
Citizens Energy Group’s 2025 water quality report puts average hardness at about 320 ppm, roughly 19 grains per gallon. Hardness depends on the source water feeding each treatment plant, and samples across Citizens’ Indianapolis system ranged from about 150 to 460 ppm, so your home’s water may be softer or harder.
In a tank, those minerals settle as sediment that causes popping, rumbling and slower recovery. In a tankless unit, scale coats the heat exchanger and can trigger error codes and shutdowns. Regular flushing or descaling helps, and our Carefree Plan includes an annual flush or descale plus 10% off qualifying repairs (up to $100 per visit). While you wait for us
Leaking? Close the cold-water valve above the heater and shut off power at the breaker (electric) or turn the gas control to Off (gas).
Smell gas? Leave the house and call 911 or your gas utility from outside. Don’t try to relight the pilot.

Indianapolis water heater repair FAQs
Can you come out the same day?
Same-day service is available. Call or text early in the day for the best chance at a same-day visit, or book online and choose the first opening.
Is a leaking water heater an emergency?
Turn off the water and the power or gas first. A drip from the relief valve or drain valve is often repairable; water coming from the tank body means the tank has failed. Read more: Water heater leaking from the bottom
